Vietnam's Black Pepper Exports: A Global LeaderYes, Vietnam is the world's largest exporter of black pepper, accounting for over 50% of global pepper production and exports. Known as the "pepper king," the country has dominated the market for years due to its favorable climate in regions like the Central Highlands (e.g., Dak Lak, Gia Lai), high-quality output, and efficient supply chains. In 2024, Vietnam exported approximately 220,000 metric tons of pepper (mostly black), generating over $1.3 billion in revenue—a 44% increase in value from 2023 despite slight volume dips.

As of September 2025, exports remain robust, with the industry targeting $1.5 billion for the full year amid high global prices and stable demand.
